Here's an interesting one, although it may simply be an oversight on my part. How/when did Gary get his driver's license back? He had it taken away during Series 2, and for quite some time afterwards, his only means of transportation was his bike. Then in the first episode of Series 6 (Mine's A Double), his "double" steals his car, which I don't believe was mentioned until this episode. As late as Series 5's "When Two Worlds Collide", he still hasn't been legally cleared to drive, as evidenced by Yvonne having to drive him back to the shop in that episode. So, this appears to have happened between Series 5 and 6. I'll admit my lack of familiarity with the British legal system, and how they handle license suspension and revocation. Is 4 years common? Or was this just a glaring oversight by the writers? When I first started working with Nick on 'The Two Of Us', he didn't have a Drivers Licence. He was a scuba diver and a pilot, but he'd never learnt to drive. I think he had just got his licence when we started Sweetheart.

In the last ever episode, 'Accentuate the positive', where Yvonne spots Gary traveling to 1945, epic fail for the effect, watch her body on the cherry picker when Gary returns to the past

In the 1940’s Gary has an incredible music talent; he is an accomplished pianist and singer, and is able to perform a great many songs perfectly - like a human juke-box. However, in the present day he has no association with music at all. We know he likes listening to the blues, but apart from that there’s no musical interest at all. He has no piano and we never see him learning songs or practicing them. In fact the only time he’s ever seen with an instrument in the present day is when he’s got the little keyboard down from the loft and is seen playing “superstition” by Stevie Wonder but it turns out he’s only miming! We do see Gary with an instrument in the 1990's, at least we see him with a guitar case, which he must take back to the 1940's with him because we see him playing it and singing to the children in the Royal Oak who were attending his make-shift school.

In the episode where Gary meets his son all grown up in the shop,Gary buys phoebes red dress, but then goes back to the 40s and changes history by selling a song and getting noël coward to set up a trust fund, back in the present day hid changed son buys the dress eve. Though the old version of his son now never existed to sell the dress to gary

In the early series, Gary makes reference to going back 53 years (from 1993 to 1940) yet in the later series, reference is made to him going back 54 years.

The dress thing could be explained from Gary's pov, as he still remembers the l alternate time line where his son was poor then the acts where interacted could still have happened in that time line and the changes for gary only occur when he meets him again. Its very confusing the multiple universes theory thingy.hehehe

Ah yes, Multiple Universes do explain a lot. We all know that Jack the Ripper was killed by a London Transport bus outside Gary's shop, yet we also now know that Aaron Kosminski was admitted to Colney Hatch around 1890 and moved to other Asylum's eventually dying in February 1917. Apart from the dna match he was the Ripper according to Dr Anderson and he was the only suspect who was identified by a witness. Kosminski was too young to have been Spring Heel Jack, so I claim Multiple Universes for my sequel story.

In "London Pride" when Gary comments that he is always seeing Noel coward in the lift he is always with a differnt young man and Pheobe replies by saying "I know, I think he is running a boys club" which assumes she doesn't know he is gay but later on in the final scene when they teach the butcher a lesson Gary makes a joke about how Coward praises the butcher's Cumberland sausage and Pheobe laughs. I can't decide if it is the character or Liz Carling corpsing slightly. I'm inclined to believe the latter. Any thoughts?

in most episodes, something in the present doesn't change until Gary makes the change in the past, for example, his sons life changes as soon as he makes the trust fund, when Ron's grandfather (Albert) robs Gary and gets arrested, the future is then changed only when this robbery takes place...yet in series 6, Gary sees a picture of him with Noel coward in a book yet for him the picture hasn't been taken yet? shouldn't it only appear in the book once the picture is taken in the past?

Hi “)
This isn’t an error really, but it’s something I only recently noticed in the very first episode, despite watching the show from start to finish several times.
Season 6 episode 6, “Just in Time”, is where a workman appears in the Blitz and Pieces yard, talking about time portals and frequencies. He eventually leads Gary to believe that his time portal from 90s to 40s will be closed permanently.
Now going back to the very first episode, where Gary is walking through the market towards the Royal Oak for the very first time - he actually passes this very same workman in the blue overalls! Gary obviously doesn’t notice as he hasn’t yet realised he’s in the 40s.
Lovely bit of continuity for the die hard fans :-) just wondered if anyone else had ever noticed?

Thanks Tabs, and thanks for having me :-)
I didn’t realise when I joined that the forum doesn’t appear to be used very much anymore, which is a shame.
Still, I still watch the show regularly and am not ashamed to admit that I know a considerable amount word for word 😊
Have a look at the first episode when you get a chance; it’s pretty cool when you realise how well thought out this was!

Yeah Marie, been quiet for quite a while now. A few years back it was very busy. We even had Terry Kinane who directed quite a few episodes posting on here quite regularly. Take a look at his posts, they give some interestig insights. There is also a facebook group but that is really quiet as well.

Hi all. I can't believe that I have only just spotted this one and I am sure it must have been covered on here before but in the last episode Yvonne finds a photo of Gary and Phoebe in Gary's wallet. She goes mad and asks him who she is and Gary explains that it is his grandad and a woman who isn't his grandmother. Major problem here is that Yvonne met Phoebe in the episode "When two worlds collide" and they pretend that she is Ron's strange girlfriend. So you would think that Yvonne would realise this and lead her to really not believe Gary's story. Has anyone else spotted this one?

Noticed Gary and Reg talking about a football friendly between England and Scotland. Reg refers to the match kicking off later that afternoon for phoebe to then enter the scene stating she wasnt expecting Gary tonight.... slight disconnect in what time of day it was.
