I loved the storyline of Jack the ripper in 'The houses inbetween,' and the way he escaped to the future then got killed but this is not the first story to use time travel to explain why Jack suddenly stopped killing and disappeared. In the 70's, a favorite film of mine, 'Time after time' had Jack the ripper steal a time machine and escape to the present to carry on his work. This film is a must for all time travel fans. "TIME AFTER TIME" 1979 Warner Bros Directed by Nicholas Meyer Starring... Malcolm MacDowell as H G Wells David Warner as Jack the Ripper and Mary Steenburgen as the love interest for H G Wells, which is weird as she also played the love interest for Doc Brown in Back To The Future 3. Also weird, the name of the director, another time travel story, another Nicholas! Welcome to the weird zone

I'll have to check the film out!
I really didn't like the Ripper episode. The Ripper element itself wasn't the issue, I just didn't like the introduction of another time period. I always had the impression that at that point the writers knew the series was ending and they were just mucking around. It didn't really add to the overall storyline much.
That's just me though.

Didn't add to the overall storyline? Read my post in the thread, 'Least favorite episode', the four episodes I named were a complete waste of space, episodes I no longer watch but the 'Houses inbetween' was interesting, a look what happened if you walked through the portal from the other end. I'll get the details for Time after time for you when I get the chance.
