This forum was the evolution of another Goodnight Sweetheart forum over at: goodnightsweetheart.forumsland.com/goodnightsweetheart.htmlFor an number of different reasons, the community outgrew the limitations of the old site, but I would like to thank the Admins over there, Ron and Stan, for bringing us all together in the first place. I think that we are a unique bunch of people, who share the love of this great program and it is fantastic to be able to discuss that! If you are new here, welcome! I suspect that from time to time, especially in the early days of this new forum, discussions may be carried over from the old place. So if a conversation seem disjointed, perhaps that is why. Don't let that put you off! Jump in with both feet! We would love to hear your viewpoints! All the best, and enjoy! |

Welcome to the new Goodnight Sweetheart forum.  As jobsta correctly commented this IS the place for all things GS and any other welcome material. The previous site reached a watershed in members and was unable to continue in an effective form to serve it's dedicated fan base. After a few weeks with no spam being posted at the old forum it now seems that the goodnightsweetheart forum at forumislands has been taken down. A big shame that all those old threads are lost to us, but ALSO concerned, has anyone heard off either of the admins?

Hi everyone.
Hope you're all doing well.
My apologies, I don't really know what happened to the old forum. I had been popping my head in to keep touch with you folks periodically, became a bit busy with work and other things for a few weeks and when i poked my nose back in the spammers had completely taken over.
On finding out that we'd been well and truly invaded, my intention was to sort it out right away. I emailed two or three of the most regular posters to organise some sort of mass pruning. Unfortunately, i decided that making a start on it during the early hours (drink had been taken!) was a good idea, and, well...to cut a long story short, after getting bored of manually deleting each thread individually i had a fiddle with some of the admin tools looking for a quicker way and accidentally deleted the entire contents of the main forum!
Once this had happened, and i'd had a mooch here and seen that someone had, amongst other things, purchased an actual website address, that most of the regulars had found the new place and that things were moving along nicely, it made sense to call it a day.
Ultimately, it's natural that forums evolve, particularly niche ones such as these, as those of you who may have occasionally frequented the pre-Forumsland versions will know. Myself, and 'Ron', weren't able to really keep tabs on the place as we'd have liked, but these things happen. Hopefully, the new guys will have a bit more time to keep on top of things here, to implement their own ideas, and eventually we'll all get round to supping a few ales in the Royal Oak!

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing, although the old forum went through periods like this as well. I think now that we're settled, we'll see this happen from time to time. Nothing to worry about, though |

Indeed! Forums always go through ups and downs. As we are a new forum with a relatively small membership, combined with a niche subject matter, there are bound to be quiet periods! I'm sure that things will brighten up as we continue to grow!

The goodnightsweetheart.net address is up for renewal again. I'm short of cash at the moment, and it doesn't appear that we are using it anymore, so at this stage I'm not going to renew it. Just thought that I should update everyone.

Sadly I think this forum is dying a very slow death. Perhaps it can come back to life again at some point, stranger things have happened on the net! Sadly I think that we lost our spirit a bit when we moved from the original forum over to here, and never quite got it back.
As for "going forward" I see two options...starting again from fresh with a full push to get the new forum publicised and out there. Or and acceptance that this may well be the end for the community in this form.
Maybe in 2013 a facebook or google plus group may be more affective?
If anyone is out there your thoughts are always welcome!

Yes not alot of traffic - and I am a member of a facebook group. BUT I find facebook unwieldy for discussing a topic like GNS so always pop back here to reread some of the threads. I will keep posting a link to this forum there every now and again.
