Other than Gary, which characters do you feel would do well out of their time, and who would do poorly. Let's say the 40's characters in the 90's and visa versa.
I think Phoebe would be ok in the 90's, She would struggle at first, as they all would, but I think that she would adapt.
Reg would struggle. I think that he is a man of his time, in the best sense. He really is too innocent for the 90's. I think his should would be eaten up!
I think that Yvonne would struggle in the 40's. As we know she has these 'ambition streaks' as Gary put them. I think that she would ne be able to cope with the social conventions surrounding women at the time.

Oh, I forgot Ron. Unlike how the TV series portrayed it, I actually think that Ron would have done pretty well. Every time I see the episodes in which Ron goes back I think they really got it wrong.

I agree with you on Ron. I think they completely missed the boat on how he would've done in the past.

I agree they missed the boat big time with ron going back, it could have been written so much better.i think ron would have been great in the 1940s.

Yep, 1940's Ron was painfully, and thankfully short for me.

I reckon Ron would have done well in the 1940s, because on many occasions he was the voice of reason when Gary wasn't sure what to do. With Gary being the star of the show, maybe the writers didn't want to show Ron in the good light they could have, in case it drew attention away from Gary. That said, the chemisty between the two of them was brilliant, and the casting was spot on.
