In "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" we learn that Ron and Gary's attempt to get rich investing shares in the past failed because the bank manager in 1957 was unable to contact Gary.
Given that Gary later was stuck in the past one could assume that he would now be contactable and can instruct the bank manager where to direct the investment.
Does this mean that Ron could go back with the share certificate to collect the money. I like to think so. It would be a nice way for Gary to give something back to Ron.

Agreed.
After all the knock-backs Ron endured along the way..

It makes you wonder why they did not just go back and do it again the next day, investing in the other company that flourished.

The company didn't split until 1957. They couldn't go in there and say, "Well, when the brothers split in such and such a year, we'd like to invest in this one instead of the other." It wouldn't have made a lot of sense.

It wouldn't have made a lot of sense. That's true. Although Gary could have invested in different companies that they knew to be doing well. It would have been much easier now that he had set up the relationship with the bank in the 1940's. I got the feeling that he learnt his lesson though, and decided to mess with time as little as possible from that time on.
