So, neither Vic McGuire or myself are really part of the wonderful new tech world that we live in. We are friends on Facebook, and today we discovered the 'friends on chat' option. Here is exactly how it went: Terry: Just seeing if this thing works, Vic. Vic: it works but I dont know what it is, everything is so confusing for me Terry: As best I can figure, when any of your friends show up on the left hand side under 'friends on chat', you can IM them. Vic: get the f**k out of here!!!!! Terry: Shut the front door! Vic: nice one. Terry: For two people famous for time travel, we're both as slow as shit with this stuff! Vic: I keep deleting things. it's all quite sad, will maybe try a video call one day soon see ya There it is folks. So strange that MIT never approached either of us!

I genuinely LOL'd at Vic's comment "get the f**k out of here!!!!!" In my head, I can JUST imagine him saying that; obviously as Ron or 'Our Jack' despite the fact neither of those characters swear. The thing about tech like that is, you really only learn by doing. I think most people get frustrated by not achieving much with it, so they give up after the first attempt and never come back to it. Try having a play with stuff and be aware that you won't achieve much; eventually it will come to you. As for the deleting stuff, he's probably got gigs of stuff in his recycle bin! Tell him to get on Gumtree; there's usually loads of geeks on there offering tutorials by the hour in your own home.
