Series 4 episode 1, new actress's for the main female roles. Liz's first scene...she is behind the bar and Regs walks in says, "Mmm, you smell different." Emma's first scene...she is at the doctors who comments that her conplexion is flawless and her hair is shinier and bouncier then he's ever seen it. Was this a dig at the original actress's by the writers.

Was this a dig at the original actress's by the writers. There was an ongoing internal joke about Michelle's wig during the making of the show. Robin and I had to be careful about how to shoot her close ups without the awful wig being obvious. So it was heaven shooting Emma who had beautiful hair. So we added a little joke for ourselves. As for the Liz line, I can't remember the reason for that line.

Thanks Terry but why did Michelle wear a wig?

Thanks Terry but why did Michelle wear a wig? It was a decision made in series one, Kelli. I was still Directing another project when Sweetheart started shooting, so I don't know the reason for the decision. I wish they'd have got her a nice one though.

I never ever noticed the wig!
I did, however, take the dialogue in the doctor's surgery to be a joking reference to the new actress.

Yeah, I thought of them both as just a little light hearted reference to the new actresses!
