I was only 15 years old when the original series aired so had no real interest but have watched the lot over the last 2 months.I have to say for me the first 3 series are fantastic classics but just as the storyline is getting really interesting and moving on we had the two lead actresses leaving which was a real shame although the two new actresses did a very good job it was not the same anymore. The only other thing I can say I would of changed is keeping Phoebes dad in it for longer was a shame he was killed off after one series as him and Gary had a strange relationship.

Hi Jason, welcome to the forum! I think it would have been great if the two female leads stayed the same for the whole six series. Like you say, the two new ones did a great job but I just preferred the original ones. Also agree that Eric should have stayed around a little longer, but i understand that this would have hindered Phoebe's character development. Otther than that I think that there are three more things. The first is the two episodes in series 2 where Gary fakes his suicide and tries to live in the war years. I think this could have warranted longer episodes, maybe 45 mins each? Second is when Ron manages to travel back to the 1940's. It was a wasted opportunity I think. Third is the Jack the Ripper episode. It was rushed and lacked any depth. There wasn't enough room for Yvonne and Gary's relationship to develop, it was all a bit crash, bang, wallop!!

It's funny I prefer the original actresses but possibly the best episodes made were between series 4-6.
