Experience by - Mrs. B.W. McDougall, and two of her friends. Place - Abingdon, Southern England. Present time - During the Second World War. Event - While in the WAAFs and returning to camp, missed the arranged transport, so set out to walk to Camp. Losing their way, they found themselves approaching a bridge. The night was cold and showery. At the moment they pssed under the bridge, Mrs. McDougall felt situation change, and found she was one of a crowd of people scurrying under the bridge to get out of the way of trouble. It was hot, and she felt the heat of bodies pressing close to her. She also felt the roughness of coarse cloth, and knew that her heart was beating with fright. Also conscious of heavy coarse clothing trail- at her feet. As soon as she emerged from the bridge she found her- self back in the Present. It seemed to be the time of the Peasants’ Revolt in the 14th Century.
