Of all the characters that we encounter in only one episode, I think my favourite might be Sparks, the portal frequency adjuster in Season Six's "Just in Time." As played by Toby Whithouse, Sparks is a friendly, workaday bloke who simply does his blue-collar job on orders from the depot. His engaging manner turns a bizarre (and potentially science-fictionish) story into an amusing, light-hearted romp.
Who is your favourite one-off character?

I liked Brick Beckham from the same episode, played by Tom Goodman-Hill.

And I though Ian Lavender was brilliant in his portrayal of Michael Sparrow in "My Heart Belongs to Daddy"

I thin ibindere has hit the nail on the head there. Michael/Ian Lavender was brilliant. That episode as a whole is fantastic.

Fair shouts. Few come to mind, but quite enjoyed the Liverpudlian barman in the episode where Gary has to go back in time to meet Ron's uncle.
